Ok. So here it is! My new blog! I decided that I would jump into this blogging thing and I decided to blog about my favorite thing in the world...being a nanny. I started babysitting when I was around 15 years old from there I transitioned into nannyhood at the tender age of 18. So flash forward 10 years, 385923953 diaper changes, and memories to last a life time brings me to present day. I decided to make this blog to share the joy, woes, and some times pure chaos that being in the nanny biz has brought me. I figured since there are tons of young people out there who are thinking of becoming a nanny they are probably searching the web for stories, tips, and ideas of how to become the best nanny ever and how to "survive" it. People often think being a nanny is a hop skip and a jump. "Oh you get to play all day", "What an easy job you have", are some of the phrases I heard numerous times and absolutely despise it! Yes playing with kids IS part of the job but so is helping raising the child, teaching, caring, loving, nurturing, dealing with difficult parents, and keeping your sanity are just some of the many "duties" in the nanny field. I would also like to say being a nanny is FAR different than being a babysitter. I absolutely hate when people say I am a babysitter. I do far more than what babysitters do in their occasional care while mom and dad have a date night. I am not dissing babysitters at all so please do not take it like that! :) The same way there is a difference between a nurse's aid and a RN is the same way there is a difference between a babysitter and a nanny. Anyways. So sit back and "bookmark" my blog. I have tons of stories to share and "tips of the trade" so to speak.
